Product Description

Safety Electrical Covers with Sliding Doors

Child safety, the number one concern of parents and grandparents. No home should leave outlets available for small inquisitive hands that could easily be burned by inserting foreign objects into unprotected outlet slots. Featured are a package of 6 white standard 3 prong outlet covers that both insulate plus protect children! Quickly replace your old non-insulating outlet covers with sliding door electrical outlet covers. Helps protect your children from electrical shocks or burn injuries to fingers or hands from electrical outlets.

Annually, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates hospital emergency rooms treat over 3,900 persons for injuries associated with electrical receptacle outlets. Young children account for about 1/3 of those treated, usually from inserting metal objects like keys into the outlets. Replace standard electrical outlet covers to improve baby safety.

Use these covers for  energy savings, too. Installing insulating gasket around the perimeter of the outlet cover seals against air leakages into and out of your home.

Child Safety Outlet Cover Features:
  1. Child restraint design: Spring-loaded sliding doors automatically keep receptacle holes covered when not in use. This gives the cover a solid appearance, concealing the black receptacle holes which are so inviting to toddlers.
  2. Remodeling function and economy: Remodeling? Cover with white, off white, ivory, red or brown sliding panel outlet covers. This child safety outlet care cover conceals wall outlets.
  3. Energy efficiency: An insulating gasket around the entire cover seals against air leakages into and out of your home. The Minneapolis Blower door test is used in the industry to measure energy loss. The blower test was conducted on a house with standard electrical outlet covers and then with automatic sliding door outlet covers. The test was repeated. Air infiltration was reduced 15%.
  4. In independent tests, 88% of mothers chose sliding door outlet covers over similar child safety products to cover outlets.
  5. Simple installation:Use a screw driver to install in less than a minute.
  6. NOTE: Only for 120VAC outlets. Three models for 2 prong, 3 prong or 3 prong Decora electrical receptacles.

Choose one of three styles to fit 2 prong, 3 prong grounded or Decora 3 prong grounded electrical outlets. Featured here are 3 prong standard covers.
  • This babyproofing safety outlet cover plate mounts with one screw (provided) in center of plate.
  • Fits all "typical household receptacles." These 120 Volt, 15 Amp, NEMA 5-15 receptacles are 3 prong duplex electrical outlets with two separated oval shaped receptacles.(The screw that holds the cover screws into the center of the outlet.) Note: if your outlets contact two receptacles stacked in a rectangle, you need to purchase Decora safety outlet covers, which fasten over the outlet with one screw on top and one screw on the bottom.
  • Note: Inspect electrical outlets for age deterioration or for repeated use damage, especially in kitchens and baths. Loosely fitting plugs, especially 2 prong ungrounded ones, may partially or completely slip from the receptacle when cords are slightly moved. These damaged receptacles are fire hazards.
